Scope and Contents note

This small collection consists of audio cassette recordings and transcripts of oral history interviews with museum employees and others associated with the museum. Most of the oral histories were conducted by the museum archivist specifically for the oral history program. Interviews conducted by other museum employees are noted in the box list.

Scope and Contents note Scrapbooks were maintained by several museum departments including Education, Publications, and Public Information. All publication scrapbooks have been retained and each item contained in the books are described fully. Only the first two years of newspaper scrapbooks were retained in their entirety as examples of the types of news items that were clipped. This collection consists entirely of works on paper created by William E. Ward. It spans his work as a high school student through his career as an artist.

The William Ward collection contains records of his work as museum designer and in the museum education department including correspondence, design project files, subject files, and records of the construction of the Breuer wing. The collection dates from 1946 through 1989.
